The cocuy is an ancestral spirit drink obtained from the agave, the “miracle plant”. This drink was banned in the 50s, which meant decades of criminalization of a people and their traditions. The two women will face large corporations and will manage to transcend the history of a country that is beginning to recognize its cultural value.
